Where Do I Park?
We STRONGLY suggest that participants car pool
to the event or arrange to be dropped off and picked up. Parking
is difficult in Venice at the best, but we have secured access to
the City Parking Lot immediately west of the Venice Beach
Library on Venice Blvd (at Dell Street, about half a mile west of
Beyond Baroque), and we are being given a generous discount rate
of $3.00 per car (providing you display the parking pass we will
provide via PDF for download); parking in that lot normally runs
about $10.00! We have been told, completely off the record, that
if you park in the Great Western Bank lot on Venice Blvd. at Milwood,
your car will NOT be towed (parking is not policed there on Sundays).
There is some street parking near Beyond Baroque, and in the small
lot to the east. We'll keep you posted as we continue to work on
this.
Additionally,
we will have a shuttle van (piloted by the plucky Beth Black)
that will pick up poets from the Venice/Dell parking lot and other
designated spots to help get the poets to and from Beyond Baroque.
Check
back on the front page of this site one week prior to the event,
we will have a printable PDF file with a map, a parking pass for
your dashboard, and list of available parking options.
