John Thomas was one of the younger members of the Venice West poetry scene. His work has appeared in a half-dozen anthologies, and he is probably the best unknown poet in America.

Philomene Long, his companion, is also a poet as well as a filmmaker ("The Beats: An Existential Comedy").
