Scott David Wannberg (February 20, 1953 – August 19, 2011) was an American poet, a giant presence on Los Angeles poetry scene for decades and a mainstay of the old Dutton’s Bookstore in Brentwood, had the distinction of having read at all three of Beyond Baroque’s venues. His influence as a poet reached well beyond his hometown of Los Angeles. With half a dozen books to his credit and more to come, Scott was one of a kind, a larger than life American original; the stuff of myth and legend. The Scott Wannberg Bookstore and Poetry Lounge is named in his honor, his memory, and with gratitude.
