Beyond Baroque’s workshops and labs offer writers at all stages of experience the opportunity to develop their art. Since its founding, workshops have been central to Beyond Baroque’s literary life, providing spaces where writers can generate new work, refine their craft, receive feedback, and sustain a serious literary and artistic practice in community.

Manuscript Labs
Manuscript Labs are designed for writers working on longer projects and sustained bodies of work. Unlike shorter workshops, they offer sustained engagement with a manuscript over time.
The Manuscript Lab is offered annually. Applications are not currently available, but generally open early in the calendar year. Please check back for more information.

Monday Night Fiction Workshop
The Monday Night Fiction Workshop provides fiction writers with a weekly forum to receive serious feedback on their prose.
Wednesday Night Poetry Workshop
Held continuously since 1969, the Wednesday Night Poetry Workshop has profoundly shaped the literary history of Los Angeles by providing a rigorous space for poets across generations, styles, and traditions to workshop individual poems.
