Dear Friends of Beyond Baroque,
On behalf of Beyond Baroque’s Board of Trustees, I would like to extend our deep collective gratitude to Quentin Ring for his visionary leadership over the past six years as Executive Director, and for twelve years of dedicated service to Beyond Baroque. Under Quentin’s guidance, the organization has flourished: expanding its programs, solidifying its role as a cultural hub in Los Angeles, and cultivating a vibrant, inclusive literary community. We are heartened that Quentin will remain closely connected to Beyond Baroque.
As we turn a new page, we are excited and proud to announce that our Associate Director, Jimmy Vega, will serve as Interim Executive Director beginning August 2. Jimmy has played an essential role in Beyond Baroque’s successes, and we are confident in his ability to guide the organization with passion, creativity, and a deep commitment to our mission. Jimmy has worked closely with Quentin throughout his tenure as Executive Director, managing day-to-day operations and overseeing numerous vital projects. These include developing an expanded workshop program at Beyond Baroque with initiatives like this year’s inaugural Manuscript Lab; directing the Linda J. Albertano Poetry Fellowship; and working closely with the city of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs to produce the Paris to L.A. International Cultural Olympiad project reading held in 2024 at the Mark Taper Auditorium at the Los Angeles Central Library.
Looking ahead, the Board will begin the process of identifying candidates for a permanent Executive Director in 2026. Please join me in celebrating Quentin’s legacy and in supporting Jimmy as he leads us through the next phase of our development.
Sincerely yours,
Luivette Resto
President
